Saturday evening in October, under a beautiful Happy Valley sky, with a jam-packed house dressed in blinding white - this is Penn State football! Since Penn State is located in the Nittany Valley at the foot of Mount Nittany, the lion was designated as a Nittany Lion. Penn State traditions also include the athletic symbol chosen by the student body in 1906 it is the mountain lion which once roamed central Pennsylvania. Penn State's spirit and traditions were ever apparent as Nittany Lion fans flooded Beaver Stadium in a sea of white for a White Out Game.
